Will Jeffery

Will JefferyI am a Senior Graphic Designer, most recently working for the Human Resource Communications group at Capital One. I performed as key designer and producer of the brand, identity, marketing, and communications for the company’s Human Resources Communications group. In this role, I worked on all aspects of a project from meeting with clients and developing concepts, to desktop publishing and vendor management.  Whether it was an ad hoc request or performing as the Graphic Design Consultant for a project team, I handled a variety of design projects for HR which supported key corporate initiatives.

Following my 1992 graduation from Collins College in Tempe, Arizona, I began my graphic design career working in a small print shop in Ashland, Virginia.  I honed my skills by taking on several temporary entry-level design positions before becoming a full-time Graphic Designer for the Virginia General Assembly's House of Delegates. During my six years in this position, I designed and produced newsletters for the Delegates and worked on various projects for the House, including the creation of the House and Senate’s first Web site.

Prior to launching my career as a Graphic Designer, I served six years with the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman aboard nuclear-powered submarines. This experience allows me to maintain an interesting perspective about my work: I know, no matter what goes wrong at work or how bad a design job is going, my desk is never going to implode, sink and drag me to the bottom of the ocean.
